Salmon Shark
The ultimate challenge for even the seasoned angler

Alaskans and visiting sportsmen continue to enjoy fabulous fishing for all five species of Pacific Salmon in addition to "barndoor" halibut. Another fish fast becoming a hot fishing challenge is the Salmon Shark.

Large and powerful, Salmon Sharks follow the big schools of Salmon into Prince William Sound. Like all the sharks, they are efficient killing machines that can detect electrical impulses and minute amounts of blood from baitfish at great distances. Salmon Sharks have no air bladder, giving them the ability to rapidly change depth and attack their prey or your bait with explosive speed. Aggressive strikes and line stripping action is just the prelude to the formidable battles that await the sportsman tackling this game fish.

These sharks grow to huge sizes, often measuring six to ten feet in length and can weigh up to 700 pounds.
